FEATURES OF PAVER PATIOS
  • Permits when required by local County
  • Miss Utility - We call Miss Utility approximately 1 week prior to the start of the project.  Taking the time to have all underground utility’s marked ensures your safety as well as our crews while excavating on your property.  Even though it is law in Virginia to have all utilities marked it is a step that too many companies by-pass for the sake of expediency.
  • Two year structural warranty(*No warranty on concrete slabs)
  • Pavers will be installed over a minimum of 6” compacted aggregate base material with 1” sand setting bed.
  • Soil Separation and stabilization fabric will be installed under the base to prevent soil migration into the base and to provide additional support.
  • Polymeric sand will be used between joints to help resist weed growth and prevent excessive joint washout.
  • Paver specific plastic edging is installed with spikes and is designed specifically for use with pavers.
  • Downspouts in the area of excavation are routed under the patio and exit outside the excavation area with a pop up or other appropriate drain.  This ensures minimum washout of polysand and less chance of drainage issues while addressing aesthetic issues as well.
  • Removal of excavated material from job site unless requested to be left on site by homeowner.
  • Appropriate sized crews and equipment for the scope of work.  Excavation machinery is used on appropriate projects and hand excavation is used on smaller or confined space projects.
  • Care is taken to cause minimal damage to the yard access area and excavation site.  However, due to the nature of patio projects some wear and damage should be expected to the area.  Basic re-grading and seed is done around the area to help with the recovery of surrounding area.  Installation of sod is available at an additional charge.
  • Complete jobsite cleanup - During construction we take pride in maintaining an orderly work area.  All debris is policed daily and loaded into trash containers or bagged and stacked neatly.
  • Deckscapes of Virginia utilizes local construction recycling companies to recycle all fill dirt and concrete and construction debris whenever possible to help protect the environment and save reusable resources.
